FAQ
General
Can I cancel my order?
Please let us know within 24 hours of placing the order if you need to cancel.
Depending on where we are in the shipping or delivery process, we may not be able to cancel your order.
If you will no longer be available for the anticipated shipping or delivery date, please consider emailing us at sproutofcontrolplantshop@gmail.com. We can hold onto your order for up to 2 weeks if that works better for you!
I do not have a green thumb. Can I email you with plant care questions?
Absolutely!
Please email sproutofcontrolplantshop@gmail.com with any questions you have about caring for your plants - whether you received these plants from us or not.
We only ask that you keep in mind our expertise lies with indoor plants.
We will do our best to advise on outdoor plant care if asked, but please remember these environments are very different and harder to control.
What is your policy for returns, refunds, and replacements?
We do not offer returns at this time in order to protect all of our customers from any unexpected pests or diseases that could come from other households.
This includes plant pots and plant accessories, as pests can hide in these items, too.
If you are not satisfied with your order, please reach out to sproutofcontrolplantshop@gmail.com with your concerns.
Due to our growing inventory and limited supplies, we cannot offer exchanges at this time.
We do offer refunds and replacements.
If we are out of stock of an item you purchased that you would like replaced, we will offer a refund instead.
Will I receive the exact plant in the picture?
Unless specifically stated, the plant you receive will not necessarily be the exact plant pictured.
When taking photos of plants, we try to find one that represents the average size, leaf count, and color.
Plants that are below our standard of quality will be listed as sale or clearance items.
Every plant is different and we can not guarantee a specific appearance, including but not limited to height, width, leaf count, stem count, variegation size, and variegation color.
When will my dream plant be back in stock?
Do you have your eye on a specific plant or plant product? We have our favorites, too!
Unfortunately, due to our rotating inventory and the fact that plant growth can be unpredictable for us and our suppliers, we cannot provide a timeline for when to expect the return of your favorite plants.
You can expect seasonal products to return unless otherwise specified, but we are unable to provide exact dates of when to expect these items.
Delivery
When do you deliver orders?
We deliver orders Wednesday-Friday from 6-8pm, and on Saturdays from 10am-5pm.
Note that depending on weather and any other external factors, our availability can change at any time. We reserve the right to change our delivery availability at any time.
If we need to reschedule your delivery, we will reach out via email at sproutofcontrolplantshop@gmail.com or via phone.
How do you deliver orders?
Orders will be delivered by me the vast majority of the time. On rare occasions, I will ask a close friend or family member for assistance if I have a high surplus of deliveries.
In warm weather conditions, your plant will not be wrapped or packaged when we arrive. We will knock or ring your doorbell, and if you do not answer, we will return to our vehicle to wrap or package your order, and then place it by your door.
In cold weather conditions, your plant will already be wrapped and packaged when we arrive. We will knock or ring your doorbell, and if you do not answer, we will leave the package by your door.
To help prevent package theft or damage, we will try to hide the package behind a porch pillar or put it in a secure location that is easily visible to you, but not passer-by's.
Please leave a note in your special instructions or email sproutofcontrolplantshop@gmail.com if you would like us to do this process differently. We cannot guarantee we can accommodate all requests, but we will do our best.
We live in Minnesota. How do you keep plants warm when delivering during the winter?
Oh yeah, you betcha!
We love living in the north and take great pride in it, but winters can be brutal for plants that are not properly packaged.
Heat packs will be added, free of charge, to all orders if our local temperature is below 40 degrees.
If road conditions are unsafe for driving, I will contact you to reschedule your delivery via email at sproutofcontrolplantshop@gmail.com or via phone.
Thank you for supporting my small business!
My delivery was rescheduled or canceled. What now?

Shipping
When do you ship orders?
We only ship orders on Mondays and Tuesdays.
If you place your order on a Monday or Tuesday, we will get it shipped the following Monday or Tuesday.
Shipping on these days with our standard delivery options (3 days or less) allows for plants and plant products to reach their destinations before the end of the week. Some facilities do not deliver on weekends, and since your plant friend can only be without sunlight and water for so long, we aim to get you your plant by Friday of each week.
What should I do if my plant arrives damaged?
Please email us at sproutofcontrolplantshop@gmail.com with your name, order number, and photos and/or videos of the damage within 72 hours (3 days) of the plant arriving.
Take photos of the entire plant as well as close-up images so we can better understand.
Do not trim any leaves, repot the plant, or alter its appearance in any way after its arrival. Please wait to make any changes until after taking photos and videos.
Depending on the situation, we may ask for additional photos and/or videos. We may also recommend the best care for the plant and then follow up on its progress in another week or two.
Remember, it is normal for plants to droop or lose leaves in shipping, especially if you purchased a plant that is usually overly expressive if it needs water, such as a calathea. With love and care, plants that look a little sad can perk back up again! Please be patient with your new leafy friend.
Can I make changes to my order?
Changes to your order cannot be made once it is placed. This includes removing or adding items as well as combining orders.
Please review all of the products in your cart carefully before purchasing!
We can change the shipping address, but only before it ships.
Please email sproutofcontrolplantshop@gmail.com with your name, order number, and the correct shipping address as soon as possible! Changes cannot be made to the address once it is shipped.
If the order has already been shipped to the wrong address, try updating it through your UPS My Choice account using the tracking link in your shipment confirmation email.
Where do you ship to?
We only ship within the USA's lower 48 states.
We are not able to ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or US territories at this time.
We do not ship internationally or offer phytosanitary certifications.
My order was lost in transit or delayed. What now?
We are not responsible for orders that have been delayed or lost in transit.
Please contact the carrier directly if this happens to your order.
